CPD Lectures and Workshops

A brand new initiative available to PTC Alumni and all interested pianists, piano teachers & students. There is no minimum requirement for these sessions.

After attending the day, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance stating how many hours of professional development you have undertaken.

You also have the option of booking a private consultation and/or lesson with an available tutor.

CPD Days

Friday 25th October 2019 – Teaching Beginners to Grade 3: New ideas for new and experienced teachers

Saturday 26th October – Teaching Beginners to Grade 3: New ideas for new and experienced teachers

Sunday 27th October – Making Progress with Beginners / Principles of Piano Technique

Saturday 22nd February 2020 – Exams or Not? / What is the “Russian School”?

Sunday 23rd February – Teaching Intermediate Students: Musicianship and Baroque style

Friday 3rd April – Teaching Advanced Students: Post-Grade 8 Performance and Romantic style

Saturday 4th April – Practice Tools / Impressionist to Contemporary Style / Dances for Pianists

Sunday 5th April – Style and Texture from Baroque to Jazz

CPD Fees

Per day, inclusive of full catering – the fee is £120

Book 3 or more CPD days with the PTC at once and receive each day at £100!

Sign up for PTC 2020-21 after attending a CPD day, and receive £100 off your course fee!


  • For PTC Alumni – £100 per day
  • For ISM Members – £100 per day
  • For students – £75 per day
  • For half a day, with lunch £65

Extra Sessions (subject to tutor availability)

  • If you wish to book a private session with a PTC Tutor the additional fee is £75 per hour – or £50 for 40 minutes

Accommodation, including evening meal or breakfast, can be provided at Purcell, if required in October, February and April before or after the day you are attending. £60 per night.
