EPTA UK – The European Piano Teachers Association, UK Ltd – was founded in 1978 by Carola Grindea, who also founded the Europe-wide co-ordinating body, EPTA. It now has Associations in almost every European country, and an International Conference of all EPTA Associations is held in a different country each year.

The aims of EPTA are to promote excellence in piano teaching and performance, to bring teachers and performers together and to raise standards within the profession.

The Mark Ray Memorial Fund – Bursaries for the PTC

This fund, established in memory of Mark Ray, is for CPD – Continuing Professional Development – for EPTA members. It offers limited Bursaries to those who need financial support to help towards the course fee. Although priority is given to EPTA members, applications are welcome from non-members.

The closing date for Bursary applications is Monday 19th June 2017. The decision will be made during the following week and announced on Monday 26th June. The closing date for the PTC early bird discount is Friday 30th June

Please note that the application form is in Word. Please would you fill it in on-line, rather than by hand – and email it. 


EPTA membership for PTC students

New PTC students are entitled to one year of free EPTA Associate Membership, which includes an entry in the annual EPTA Handbook. Should you achieve the Cert PTC you automatically upgrade to Professional Membership for the following year. However, this is no longer free and you will need to pay the annual fee. Once a Professional member you have the option of being listed on the EPTA website in the Find a Teacher section. Should you wish to do so, you will need to provide a current DBS form. EPTA Membership runs annually from April to March.


EPTA UK Annual Conference 2017

Led by the PTC, the 2017 Annual Conference takes place at the De Vere Jubilee Conference Centre in Nottingham between 31st August and 2nd September.

Highlights include a recital and conversation with Peter Donohoe, the EPTA UK Patron – and William Westney, author of The Perfect Wrong Note is giving the Keynote Speech and workshop: Serious Fun.

      The PTC written assignments are now accepted as a substitute for the entire Written Submisson required for the Teaching DipABRSM. This applies to all Cert PTC and PTC CME graduates from PTC 2013-14 onwards.
