About

Now reaching its 12th anniversary, The Piano Teachers’ Course UK has established itself as “the UK’s leading professional development course, solely for piano teachers”.

The only course of its kind in the UK, it continues to equip piano teachers with the full range of professional skills they need for a successful career, together with the opportunity to connect with an inspiring and informative network of pianists.

The Piano Teachers’ Course UK provides excellent preparation for all Piano Teaching Diplomas including those from the Associated Board, Trinity Guildhall and London College.

In addition to being exposed to the latest in piano teaching pedagogy, you will be able to adapt and adjust your PTC assignments to suit the demands of your chosen Diploma, and you will be able to seek help and advice from your personal Tutor and the Course Director.

We offer two levels of Certificate…

  • The Cert PTC – the full course c/w all assignments
  • The Certificate of Professional Development – the full course without the written work

piano-teachers-piano-1When is it?

It is a part-time course, designed to suit those with other commitments, running with the academic year from September through to June; consisting of three residential weekends, five single Sundays and independent study spread throughout the year.

For the 2019-20 dates and the new course syllabus, please go to: PTC 2019-20

Who is it for?

The course is for all pianists, piano teachers and student teachers who wish to enhance their professional teaching skills.

It is designed to guide and give confidence to those new to the profession as well as re-invigorate, enrich and deepen experienced teachers’ work.

Advanced players who wish to add a teaching component to their professional portfolio are welcome, as are those entering the piano teaching profession from careers in other fields.
